چکیده
Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the genetic relatedness and antimicrobial resistance among Shigella species isolated from food stool samples. Using cross sectional method, spp. were clinical samples using culture-based, biochemical serological methods. Antimicrobial susceptibility isolates evaluated disk diffusion RAPD-PCR methods respectively. Results prevalence 4.84 7.7% in All Sh. sonnei . 91.42% 62.5% resistant tetracycline. 46.8, 50 65.8% imipenem, amikacin azithromycin 85.7% respectively MDR. Dendrogram generated by showed that categorized a same group. Close between MDR indicate foods can be considered as one main vehicles for transmission human causing acute diseases. Survey is strongly suggested implemented.

results amongst 938 stool samples, 36 were shigella spp. s. sonnei (61.1%, n = 22), which was the most common, followed by s. flexneri (27.8%, n = 10), s. boydii (8.3%, n = 3), and s. dysenteriae (2.8%, n = 1). furthermore, most shigella isolates showed resistance to amoxicillin (83.3%), tetracycline (61.1%), and co-trimoxazole (83.3%). no resistance was found against ciprofloxacin and imipenem...
